Project Plans

The cities of Provo, Spanish Fork, Salem, Nephi, Manti and Levan are members of a joint action agency called Utah Municipal Power Agency – UMPA. UMPA’s primary responsibility is to provide electricity to the six-cities for distribution to their customers. UMPA and its member cities are working hand in hand to create a beautiful 4-megawatt solar farm behind Lowe’s. UMPA has leased this old 25-acre landfill property that cannot develop because hazardous chemicals that have compromised the land for any other use. This will become an ideal site within the growing industrial and commercial park on the north end of town.
